I've been trying out and working with different leveling bases and ball heads for tripods within shooting sports for years. Constantly searching for the one setup that does everything I want it to do, and does it well. There's always been something that I did not like about the ball heads and leveling bases on the market that were available. I was searching for a "do it all" tripod head forever and kept being disappointed. The tripod head or leveling base excelled at one area but fell short in another. It might be fantastic to clip a rifle into, but terrible for using with optics like a spotter or binos. Maybe it worked great with a spotting setup but then didn't have the adjustment range and ability to hold tight when used with a rifle. Maybe it was impossible to find just the perfect amount of tension needed for the current use application. Whatever it was, I saw this online and was interested in this dynamic ball head setup and I am so glad I picked one up. It works fantastically well for everything. Binos - check. Spotter - check. Rifle mount - check. The easy adjustments to the tension with the friction wheel make the head movements super fluid and smooth without any catches or dragging when using a light pair of binos or a spotter, the large handlebar control makes adjustments to tension and locking the device down to hold a large rifle system super efficient and effective, and the luxury of a dual (ARCA/picatinny) lever clamp on the top mean I can use all my gear without any adapters. Definitely worth the money and looking forward to beating this gear up for several years to see how it holds up. Thank you!!!
