The Leofoto SO-282CX "X Version" 2-Section Inverted Carbon Fiber Tripod (FIXED Apex/Platform) is an excellent choice for full-sized firearm combos that need rock-solid support for a full-length rifle chassis with a spotting scope. Available in two sizes for your convenience: a small, portable option and a full-size version for all your needs. The robust load capacity also makes it suitable for use with extreme spotting scopes, cameras, and large format surveillance equipment. The new "X" version features a knurled-bar angle stop design which allows for one handed operation as well as leg tubes which do not cross.
The carbon fiber legs are inverted, with the widest tube at the bottom, for added stability and incredibly quick full collapse and deployment. The legs feature twist-lock joints, individual spread and three available locking positions making it possible to achieve the proper level even when on uneven terrain. This lightweight tripod has a fixed apex/platform which is more compact than the larger SO series tripods.

Just got this tripod setup in and I am already really happy with these items. At a total weight paired together of 4 pounds 4 oz on my scale this is provides a perfect balance between weight and stability. Single pull inverted legs are very quick to deploy and easy to adjust on the fly. Controls are very nice. Lockup on everything also very nice. This is the best ballhead for shooting I have used, very thankful for picatinny and Arca comparability. Setup provides good stability even for some of my heavier 17 - 20 pound rifles.
This is the first, and probably last, tripod I've purchased and I can't say enough great things about it. The quality is top notch, the tripod is very light, and it's extremely easy to get set up for shooting. Before I purchased the tripod, I reached out to customer service at Leofoto outdoors with a couple questions and they were extremely quick to respond and answered all my questions. I'm very pleased with the tripod and highly recommend getting one if you don't have one already. I don't believe you can get a better product for the price.
I'm pleasantly surprised with quality, ease of use, and value of this tripod. This tripod will serve me well in NRL Hunter competitions, PRS matches or at the range. It is light enough to carry between stages but solid enough to handle my 12 lbs setup (and I know it can take on even heavier rifles with no issues). I have several other brands and found Leofoto telescopic legs to be smoother and faster in opening. It has the right height adjustment for just about any shooting scenario. I also love the head on this tripod. So easy to use and very versatile. I'm basically switching to this one for all my comps. Great product.
